Our Southwest food pantry, 6856 Bellaire, will close at noon each day March 14-19. Our Central food pantry, 3434 Branard, will close at 1 p.m. each day March 18-22.

Workforce Development Programs

We provide services for a wide range of job seekers, from recent high school graduates to retirees looking to re-enter the workforce. These services include career and financial coaching, computer classes, and training to become a nonmedical home caregiver or start a housekeeping business.

JobNet

What: A training program that prepares participants to interview for and find a job that best fits their skills and needs.

For who? Unemployed or underemployed people who are struggling to make ends meet and working toward financial stability.

What: One-to-one career and financial coaching.

For who? Job seekers of all ages wanting to build job skills and find employment. We also provide career exploration coaching for 17- to 24-year-olds entering the workforce, college, or occupational skills training.

Professional Home Caregiver Training Program

What: 50+ hours of training that equips people to become nonmedical caregivers. Graduates are provided with job leads and other support.

For who? Those who are interested in working for a caregiver agency, opening their own caregiver business, and/or those who want to work directly for families.

Training includes:

  • Relationship building
  • Technical skills
  • Hands-on support techniques
  • Dementia instruction
  • Business and marketing strategies to find and keep clients
  • Graduates of the program are American Red Cross CPR certified

What: 42-hour training that equips entrepreneurs to open their own housekeeping businesses.

Attending an orientation is required prior to signing up for our JobNet classes and coaching services. Orientation for Martha’s Way and the Professional Home Caregiver Training Program is conducted the first day of class.
You must be 17 years old or older to participate in Workforce Development programs.
The self-paced computer lab is open Monday through Thursday, 9 a.m.–3:00 p.m., and Friday, 9:00 a.m.–12:30 p.m. Appointments for additional services can be made after attending Orientation.
All services are free of charge.
Workforce Development programs serve those who are struggling to make ends meet due to unemployment or underemployment. Participants in the Professional Home Caregiver Training must pass a criminal background check. We ask that participants attend an orientation and commit to completing the programs as there are a limited number of spots for each class.

Our Financial and Career Coaches, Professional Home Caregiver Program and Martha's Way program all teach participants how to start their own businesses.
Workforce Development programs are open to anyone living within the greater Houston area.
CCSC is not an employment placement agency. We work with our clients to build their skills to become job ready, gain employment, and become promotable. Should we receive job referrals, they are shared at our JobNet Corner located within the office.
