Food Drives

How to Organize a Food Drive for Christian Community Service Center (CCSC)

CCSC operates two food pantries and is always grateful for donated items to help our neighbors in need. Food drives – no matter how large or small – are a great way to contribute to our mission AND help stretch CCSC’s budget.

    Related facts about hunger:

In 2016, CCSC provided 10,000 food packages to clients, impacting more than 30,000 persons. These packages are designed to help households of varying sizes. Clients help choose certain items that meet their unique needs and preferences.

One in six Texas households struggled to avoid hunger in 2012-2014, according to a U.S. Department of Agriculture report. 17.2% percent of Texas households were found to have experienced hunger or engaged in coping mechanisms to avoid it, significantly higher than the national rate of 14.3%.
